A Valentine Story from the Caring People 

In December, Shirley, one of our Single Moms was married, and she shared her story with us, as follows: 

“Shelbi (my daughter) and I made lasting friendships through fellowship and prayer at the Caring People group.  I’ll admit, it was hard for me and Shelbi to show up at the first meeting, but the warm hugs and genuine smiles of the leaders made us feel right at home.  Every meeting we attended refocused my attention on Jesus, so that my burdens grew lighter, and many of them were completely cast off.  My mother basically vanished, my sister moved away, and my dad was thrown in prison, but because God worked so mightily through the Caring People, we knew we were never alone or forgotten.  

“The Caring People inspired me to start a prayer journal, and I found that the more specifically I prayed, the more specific the answers became … and that is how I found my new husband!  I prayed that the Lord would bring no one less than His very best for me and Shelbi.  I prayed for friendship, godliness, trust, a good father, and someone Shelbi and I could depend on.  Then God blessed us with Bruce.  After years of Shelbi pleading for a daddy and I longing for a husband, our family is now complete.  God’s timing is perfect! 

“Bruce and I study God’s Word together before bed each night and pray for each other, our marriage, and our family each day.  We give thanks for the many blessings and even the trials that brought us here.  The ladies of the Caring People continue to hold a special place in our hearts.  We were broken when we came, but God’s healing and rebuilding has been miraculous!!” 

Shirley is one example of how your partnership with the Caring People is not only changing the lives of Single Moms but affecting families and generations.  Through God’s power, destructive cycles are being broken!  We are very grateful for your prayers and support.  Together through Jesus, we are changing history!
